7 animals that love in a way you wouldn't want to love

If you love your girlfriend or boyfriend, you probably prove it with words, gestures and sometimes some little gift. Several animals use gestures to show affection, and you can see that at many times - seeing a dog licking another or a cat "kneading bread" with its paws, for example.

But not all animals in the world show the love they feel in a way we are used to. In fact, there are a number of them that do this in very painful and even deadly ways. Not believing what we are talking about? So check out a selection of seven animals that make vows of love far more brutal than any human could imagine.

1. Mantis

In literature and the cinema, it is quite common to see people smoking after sex. This "ritual" can be seen in many animals - with substitutions for cigarettes, of course. Mantis, for example, goes through something far more cruel than that. In many cases, after the end of intercourse, the female usually makes a very peculiar snack ... The head of the male with whom he has just had a relationship.

2. Beetle

Beetles look pretty harmless when we see them flying around. In fact, they rarely pose any threat to humans, but that does not mean that they are not able to hurt anyone. According to a study published in 2007, this happens because of small thorns that males have in their penis. Oh yes, the photo below is just that.

3. Australian marsupial rat

If there is a place in the world where animals seem to have come from another planet, this is Australia. And new proof of this is the Australian marsupial rat, which is also one of those animals that show their love in a way that humans would never want to repeat. In the breeding season, males mate with several females over and over and over. There is so much physical exertion that many develop deep wounds, lose hair, become blind, and some even die from exhaustion.

4. Araneidae Spiders

A very curious spider family is that of Araneidae. And their sexual activities show that quite effectively. Females are usually cannibals, and many of them decide to show this to their partners precisely during sexual activity. As if that wasn't enough, there is still the fact that males loosen their genitals inside females. They may take up to seven hours to get rid of it, enough time for them to escape and fertilization to occur.

5. Sea Slug

Sea slugs are hermaphrodite, which means they can all play a male or female role during reproduction. But a curious fact is that they have not only one penis but three. And these penises work like this: One acts as a syringe and injects fluid into the partner, while the other two just carry the gametes. It is worth mentioning that these penises are equipped with hooks that attach inside the partners.

6. Cat

Remember when we said cats are affectionate? This is not seen at the time of their sex. The penis has several thorns, which cause a lot of pain to the vagina. At the same time, this structure may be necessary for reproduction, as there are studies suggesting that it stimulates ovulation in cats.

7. Bedbug

No one wants bed bugs, right? And once you know how they reproduce, you will want them even less close to you. The male has a pointed penis and a needle-like shape. And they can use this organ to puncture the female's exoskeleton anywhere - which can be very uncomfortable and painful. Sperm are carried to the ovaries by body fluid, with almost no chance of rejection.
