7 Strange Things That Could Only Be 'Made in China'

Unusually prepared teas, people who get paid to stay in their cars during traffic jams, canned fresh air and food served by robots are some of the most curious things that can be found in China.

Check out our list of seven of these and weirdest services in the country:

1 - Live crabs on vending machines

Do you know those automatic snack machines, where you buy chocolate, snack packs or soda cans? In China, there are machines of this type, but they sell packaged live crabs!

The animals are kept at 5 ° C: cold enough to be temporarily paralyzed, but not so freezing as to die from the cold.

2 - Panda Poop Tea

These teas - which cost about $ 155, 000, or $ 77, 000 a kilo - are made from panda droppings. The animals, symbols of China, eat bamboos, but, according to the tea company, only use 30% of the plant's nutrients, eliminating the rest in their feces.

Bamboo is thought to contain important cancer-fighting antioxidants, so Panda Tea is sold as an anticancer and as a good weight-loss helper.

Amazing as it may seem, the Chinese are not the only ones to market drinks of this origin. A Thai coffee made from elephant droppings is one of the most expensive in the world today, selling for over $ 90 a cup!

3 - Tea leaves harvested by virgins

Virgin girls are the sole workers of a tea leaf plantation on sacred Mount Jiuhua, to the east of the country. According to the company that markets the product, workers must have specifically full breasts and not have visible scars or wounds.

All of this is to keep alive the myth of the teas harvested by fairy mouths. With this method, the leaves are soaked by the purity of virgins, a quality that is passed on to the tea drinker.

4 - Food prepared and served by robots

Chef Chui is a humanoid robot specializing in preparing a typical Chinese instant noodle, which is traditionally cut by hand.

Each robot sells for $ 4, 000 - and if you think it's too expensive, know that more than 3, 000 units have been sold!

Other robots of this type are also used in some Chinese restaurants: in addition to cooking, they also work as waiters serving customers. The idea is also applied in some Japanese, Thai and American restaurants.

5 - Canned clean air

It sounds like a joke or some scam to make money by fooling customers, but the truth is that it is possible to get canned fresh air in China, which comes in many different fragrances.

The can costs about $ 1.62 and is marketed by millionaire Chen Guangbiao, known for doing publicity actions that draw the country's attention to some alarming issues - in this case, the terrible air pollution in China.

6 - Driver replacement in traffic jam

As in the largest cities in Brazil, traffic on the busiest roads in central China can turn into chaos, even lasting days of congestion. In the midst of this traffic that does not go, you can call a service, which will at the same time leave someone taking care of your car and still take you, by motorcycle, to another place you need to go.

Another similar service allows a person to be hired to stand in your queue while you go out to work on other things - something that is not unique to China either.

7 - Live Turtle Keychain

Keychains with small turtles and other living animals, trapped in a plastic bag and wrapped in nourishing liquid, can be found at outdoor fairs in China. However, selling the product is understandably considered a form of cruelty to animals, which can be locked up for months in a small space without access to oxygen.
