They chase their victims like hunters, lusting for blood and shouts of pain. No matter how many lives they take, nothing will satisfy them. It's the serial killers, and some of them are still out there, never having responded to their crimes and waiting for the next opportunity to kill.

Other than the most famous serial killer of all time - Jack the Ripper - little is known about the identity of other killers who have terrorized entire cities and never been caught by the police. Check out 8 cases:

1. Charlie Chop-Off

Responsible for a series of murders of young boys during the years 1972 and 1973, Charlie Chop-Off earned his nickname for the cruel method he used to kill: after stabbing his victims, he mutilated their genitals.

A man named Erno Soto was arrested by police and confessed to being the wanted serial killer, but police realized it was a false confession and released him. The real culprit for the crimes has never been found.

2. Stone Man

Despite being unknown around here, “Stoneman” is a famous personality in India, being considered the most infamous killer in the country. He is the suspect in the killing of 13 people in Kolkata and 12 others in Bombay. The first victim was found in 1989: a homeless man who had been beaten to the end with a rock. In just six months, 12 more homeless people were killed in the same way.

Authorities even questioned several people until the killings stopped and with them the investigations.

3. The Killer Babysitter

Nicknamed “Babysitter Killer, ” a serial killer caused panic in southeastern Michigan in the late 1970s. This killer killed at least four children just over one year old. The case was reportedly reopened in 2012, but to date no one has been charged.

4. The Atlanta Ripper

Belle Walker was only 15 kilometers from her home when she was found dead, her throat cut. She was reportedly the first victim of the Atlanta Ripper, who, according to investigations, killed 15 to 21 women.

5. The Zodiac Killer

Even being one of the most famous serial killers of all time, the Zodiac has never been arrested. Although police indicated that he killed five people, the killer claims that he committed 37 homicides between the 1960s and 1970s. His first known victims were Betty Lou Jensen and David Faraday, two high school students. They were on their way to a Christmas concert when the Zodiac shot them both.

Interestingly, this killer liked the spotlight and the attention of the press, so he sent several letters to the police and the newspapers.

6. The New Orleans Ax Man

Axeman terrorized New Orleans during 1918 and 1919. His nickname came from his choice of a weapon at the time of killing: an ax. He used to hit houses and attack anyone there. Surprisingly, the killer sent a letter to the press stating that he would kill again on March 19. However, he ensured that he would not kill anyone listening to jazz. So that night, the New Orleans dance halls were overflowing, bands playing at parties all over the city. No one went that day, but the serial killer made at least 12 casualties.

The killer was portrayed in the series "American Horror Story" during the third season.

7. The Bone Collector

The latest killer on this list is the “Bone Collector”, responsible for the deaths of at least 11 women between 2003 and 2005. All the remains were found buried in the desert near Albuquerque in 2009.

8. The Trunk Killer

The Cleveland Trunk Killer acted during the 1930s and killed at least 12 people. He is suspected of involvement with the famous Black Dahlia case! Also dubbed the “Crazy Butcher, ” he was chased by one of the most famous lawmen of all time: Eliot Ness.
