According to Kara, this talk of hidden messages had gained some notoriety at the time, but since no one could prove that such a disaster had actually happened - it seems that a crash involving McCartney's car, a Mini Cooper, happened in 1967, only that The Beatle wasn't even in the vehicle, and the person behind the wheel didn't die at the time - the talk about the star's alleged death was eventually dropped.

Then, in 1969, the story about McCartney's death circulated shyly thanks to several articles published by university journals and other leaflets.
