The life without taboos of the lawyer who is also a call girl and dominatrix

Although the book and later the movie "50 Shades of Gray" have somehow popularized the darker side of some sexual relations, people who actually have fetishes with submissive and / or domineering behaviors claim that Anastasia's relationship with Christian is not a very faithful representation of BDSM practices.

The Independent published the account of Laura Lee, who works with sex, especially as a dominatrix, and decided to talk more about her life, her professions, and the BDSM side, which is quite different from the “water with sugar” representation by author EL James

She says she receives rather unusual requests from her clients and that the least common of them involves humiliating situations in public, which is basically a scenario in which she screams and gives bizarre orders to men in the middle of the street, with strangers around. Usually, orders involve even more intimate scenarios, between four walls.

Lee explains that his clients are men who are in control all day long in their personal and work lives. When they meet Laura, they want the exact opposite: they want more to lose control and the dominant man position. With her, they are submissive and receive orders and humiliations.

Dominatrix explains that, just like in the story of Christian and Anastasia, she and her clients have safe words that are used when the person feels uncomfortable or in pain. The resemblance to the story written by EL James, however, ends there. “BDSM has strictly agreed limits, safe, sensible and consensual. This man [Christian] spends all the time following her [Anastasia]. This is wrong, ”sums up Lee.

In addition to working as a dominatrix, she also offers sexual services to terminally ill and physically disabled people who have never had sex - something similar to what happens in the movie "The Sessions." “The reaction you see is wonderful because they have spent their entire lives feeling isolated and depressed - so it makes them feel part of the group, ” he says.

Lee's relationship with his work is quite different and free from any taboo or prejudice. According to her, the profession should be better recognized and respected so that people don't have to hide what they do to make money. "Seventy percent of the workers are now moms working on flats very quietly, " he estimates.

Speaking of motherhood, Lee has no problem discussing the profession with her teenage daughter, who comments on her mother's work with friends without fear of being bullied. "Every mother knows that I don't have a dungeon in the basement and that I live in a normal family home surrounded by a cat and hamsters, and that their daughters are perfectly safe with me."

Lee has been working with the sex industry for over 20 years, reconciling what she does with the legal profession and her jobs in the financial industry. In fact, it was during law school in Dublin, Ireland, that she started working with sex. At first, the idea was to have money to pay college bills, and now she's about to graduate in psychology.

She is currently battling to legalize prostitution in Ireland as it would bring more security to many women who do the same work as her. Currently, if two women work together in an apartment, by Irish law they can be arrested.

Lee's biggest wish? One day people will see her work as a service that makes her customers happy. She explains that in her work, sex is only 25% of what she does. The rest involves companionship, honesty, and the ability to listen to their clients' stories: “It's so much more than the physical act, ” she says.
