At 94, widower found a beautiful way to combat loneliness

Keith Davison, a 94-year-old retired judge, lost his wife Evy in April 2016 as a result of cancer. The two have been married for 66 years, and being home alone now is something new and unfortunately very sad for him: "You can't imagine what that is like, " said Keith, in a statement published in Bored Panda.

He claims that without his wife, he simply cried a lot, and was thinking of a way to feel less alone that he came up with an unusual solution: building a backyard pool in his Morris, Minnesota, home.

Guaranteed fun

The reason? With the pool, he could invite the neighborhood kids and anyone else who wanted to have fun, so the loneliness would go away. There was no other: the structure, which measures 4.9 m by 9.8 m, now lives full of people having fun.

Keith has three adult children but no grandchildren, so she developed a special affection for the children who live near her home: “You end up adopting the whole neighborhood of children. They are your grandchildren, ”a neighbor told him, who now no longer feels alone.
