Street artist Banksy has never publicly revealed his identity, but he is known around the world for his artistic interventions full of symbolism and criticism of modern society as a whole. His works have always generated a lot of discussion, but the theme park he recently opened should take it to new heights.

Called Dismaland - which can be translated into something like Shadowland - the place is a completely opposite version of everything that people normally see in amusement parks. The name, of course, is a kind of ironic pun on Disneyland, which is the first thing that comes to almost anyone's mind when it comes to theme park.

The venue for the artist's “perplexity park” was a former pool complex in the town of Weston-super-Mare - the west coast of England - which has been abandoned for the past 15 years. Visitors are greeted by depressed staff, and everything inside the facility has a morbid side. As an example, there is the lake full of dolls depicting illegal immigrants or a overturned carriage, inspired by the classic Cinderella, in which the already dead protagonist and several paparazzi continually take pictures.

What would be the famous magic castle is just an abandoned building and the toys are dirty and decayed, a strong allusion to modern society. Unpublished works by Banksy himself and other street artists adorn the place, but with the same amount of criticism as everything else. The attraction will only work for five weeks and the ticket costs about R $ 16.40. The place is not suitable for children and it is forbidden to enter knives, spray cans, illegal drugs and Disney attorneys.
