Tank Battle: The 11 Best Armor of All Time

American Heroes Channel has published a list of the top ten tanks in history. To them, we added a model that was pointed out by readers as an omission: the very modern German armored Leopard 2 A7 +.

For the site, the best tank ever made is the Soviet T-34, which served in World War II. It has great firepower, mobility and protection, but its biggest feature is the ease of production.

The tanks were first introduced by the French at the end of World War I. In World War II, they were one of the main forces in the conflict camps. The Battle of Kursk was the largest battle confrontation on record.

Check out the list of the best tanks of all time:

11 - M-4 Sherman (USA)

Although it has little firepower and protection, the US tank earns points for ease of production. Introduced in 1942, 48, 000 units were produced in three years.

10 - Merkava (Israel)

This 1977 tank has the main advantage of armor. However, weight takes points away from mobility. The construction of the tank is complex, but its firepower makes it imposing on the battlefield.

9 - T-54/55 (Soviet Union)

It is only average in firepower, mobility and protection, but its ease of production makes it a threat that cannot be ignored (95, 000 units were manufactured).

8 - Challenger (United Kingdom)

The English tank gets maximum score for the 120mm rifle cannon. The armor also deserves attention, but the vehicle loses in mobility and ease of production.

7 - Mk IV Panzer (Germany)

It was a demon in the early years of World War II. It has good armor and firepower, but, like all German tanks, had a complex construction.

6 - Centurion (United Kingdom)

Its shielding up to 152 mm makes it one of the most protected tanks in its class. It also gets points for firepower and ease of production, but mobility is only average.

5 - WWI Tank (United Kingdom)

Produced in 1917, it was one of the first tanks introduced on the battlefield. Its technical specifications are unimpressive, but few had this war machine.

4 - Tiger (Germany)

It was one of the most feared tanks of World War II for its firepower and protection. Its only problem was the difficulty of manufacturing.

3 - M-1 Abrams (USA)

From 1983, it is one of the most powerful tanks ever made. Has excellent firepower and armor. But it is also a complex and expensive machine.

2 - Leopard 2 A7 + (Germany)

It is one of the most modern in the world, with good protection against rocket launchers. It offers greater accuracy for long range shots due to an advanced aiming system. It has engine of 1500 HP.

1 - T-34 (Soviet Union)

The best tank of all time is practically perfect in every respect and considered the most effective and influential of World War II.

Honorable Mention - EE-T1 Osório

The Brazilian tank was considered a favorite in open competition by Saudi Arabia, winning even the American M1 Abrams, but lost the dispute over political issues and only two prototypes of the tank were produced.
