Another fact pointed out in the Bank My Cell study is the fact that 86% of people around the globe claim to use the device while talking to friends and family. It was also mentioned that 87% of respondents use their cell phone for about an hour before bed, and 69% report checking their cell phone for a minimum of five minutes as soon as they wake up.

In Brazil, the latest smartphone survey by Nielsen found that nearly 50% of our country's people checked their social networks and apps on their smartphones before bedtime.

It is worth mentioning that excessive use of the smartphone before bed can cause the brain to lose track of sleep time, causing, among other things, loss of memory and attention, stress, unregulated metabolism and, in slightly more severe cases, anxiety and depression.
