Brazuca was launched: learn all about the most Brazilian ball ever

Do you remember Cid Moreira's voice saying “jabulani”? Yeah. Will he make any special stickers for the new brazuca? If for some reason of force majeure - such as an alien abduction - you do not know, this is the name of the ball that will be used at the 2014 World Cup. The popular vote that baptized the object took place last year - were 1, 119. 539 votes; of these, 78% chose “brazuca”.

The new ball, with different design, was launched yesterday, at Parque Lage, in Rio de Janeiro. The event was attended by football personalities and presentation tricks that included even a 3D light show.

Adidas brazuca is the most tested soccer ball of all time - it is worth remembering that the old jabulani was widely criticized for its quality; many players stated that the kicks were crooked. Maybe that's why more than 600 players tested the brazuca and gave their verdict.

Among the feet that have already kicked the new ball are those of big names in football, such as Zidane, Daniel Alves and Messi. The brazuca was already used by the FIFA U-20 World Cup, inclusive.

The colors used in the brazuca are a tribute to the traditional ribbons of Senhor do Bonfim, worn by many Brazilians in the wrist just after placing an order.

According to Adidas, the ball has a different construction, made up of six symmetrical structures that fit into a better quality surface, ensuring more grip, stability, aerodynamics and touch accuracy. “This ball is 100% Brazilian, it's fantastic. Too bad I will not have the opportunity to play the World Cup with this beauty. The ball has the colors of Brazil, the starry sky, and I hope it brings luck to the national team, ”said Cafu, in a statement published on the G1 portal.

Adidas also reported that all babies born yesterday, December 3, will win a ball. To do this, parents will need to bring their child's birth certificate - and a copy as well - to one of the 12 trading posts, each of the host cities of next year's Games: Cuiabá, Brasilia, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Fortaleza, Natal, Recife, Salvador and Belo Horizonte. But you have to be quick: Withdrawals will only be valid on the next 6th and 7th (Friday and Saturday). To learn more, click here.
