Record heat in China allows frying meat on sidewalk

Some regions of China are experiencing a major heat wave in recent days. In Shanghai, for example, the temperature has risen to 40.6 degrees - the highest ever on record - in the hottest July in 140 years.

After several people died of the effects of the high temperature, the government of the country began to issue a national alert for the dangers caused by heat. In the media, the state urges citizens to refrain from outdoor activities. In Zheijang Province, the government used techniques to artificially create clouds to alleviate drought in the region.

To demonstrate the effects of the heat, Chinese journalists even tested it by splashing some marble on a marble floor - which evaporated in a split second. On the same floor, the team was also able to fry a piece of pork in just ten minutes, while melting part of a candle.

People seem to have liked the idea and started to fry other types of food on the floor, sharing photos of the results on the social network Sina Weibo. Among other games by Chinese netizens, there is also a montage of Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa in a short-hair version to escape the heat.

According to the China Meteorological Service, regions affected by temperatures above 35 degrees should extend into next week.
