Inside a cave in Guizhou Province, China, is located Zhongdong Village

About 100 people live there

Chinese officials believe this is the last community to live inside a cave

But this is not pleasing to everyone

The cave also houses animals such as dogs, cows and chickens.

It is only accessible after a walk of approximately 1 hour.

Until 2011, a public school operated inside

But the Chinese government decided to close it by claiming that “China is not a caveman society”

Weekly residents come out of the cave to buy basic items at the nearest market

They need to walk 15 kilometers for that.

The place is so big that it can hold up to a makeshift basketball court
