Pantone launches new character-inspired 'Yellow Minion'

The Pantone scale is known for the gigantic amount of color used by graphic design - being one of the most reliable systems for accurately composing digital and print content. For now, the company responsible for this scale has just announced the arrival of a new color, completely inspired by some of the craziest characters that cinema has ever seen.

This is Amerelo Minion, which I was based on Illumination Entertainment's Minions - featured in the films My Favorite Despicable, My Favorite Despicable 2 and Minions. According to Pantone, this color is a representation of joy, hope and optimism, and is still a “brighter, more energetic, friendly and fun for consumers” yellow.

Pantone also claims that it has studied the yellow color spectra to prevent the “Minion Yellow” from being repeated with another color present in the system. Would you use this color to make some composition in your works?
