Dogs in Russia help police find cars with violated license plates

Traffic offenders are everywhere: in your neighborhood, in your city, in our country, there will always be a smart guy who wants to take advantage wherever you are in the world. And they do their best to circumvent the rules, fool traffic cops, and escape the radars that are usually around every corner.

If this happens all over the planet, it is clear that in Russia it is no different. By the way, one practice is very common there: covering the signs so that improper parking fines are not applied. Russian police were having a hard time figuring out which vehicles were infringing until someone had an idea of genius.

She's good for the dog

One of the main problems that Russian traffic authorities were facing was the constant conflicts with car owners, who argued with the police, argued and even wanted to get into the fray. So why not train dogs to perform this task? Of course the idea was not rejected and it worked very well.

For a while, a cute little dog named Casey was taught to leave license plates completely "clean", free of any object such as plastic, paper, or CDs that made it difficult to fully see numbers. She did very well, brilliantly accomplishing the task. So she was taken to the streets and left nothing to be desired.

The choice of a dog (or rather a dog) for this purpose is that it has been found that people do not have the courage to fight when an animal has performed the task. Some because they are afraid, others because they melt at the image of the dog. In addition, critters, when trained, are much faster to detect plaques that are violated.

Ready for work

Currently, only Casey and another dog perform the task on the streets. However, Deptransa (Russian Transit Authority) has developed Training Center Dog MIA software and 10 new dogs are being trained across the country. By 2015, they should all be helping police officers get objects off the signs.

As soon as a camera detects a car with a covered license plate, an authority is notified and she takes care of taking the dog there. The policeman does not touch anything, it is the animal itself that will remove the object that is characterizing the violation. And that's not all: the animal will throw everything in the trash, like a good educated citizen! Who has the courage to be an infringer now?
