Club 2 de Mayo, the football team that has a dog as an "assistant"

It is said that the dog is man's best friend - and it seems that he is also a great companion in football. Club 2 de Mayo, a Paraguayan team currently playing in the second division of the Paraguayan Championship, made headlines in the country by adopting a ten-year-old puppy as "field assistance." Of course the mutt is not considered a real member, but the consideration for it is equivalent.

According to Carlos Jara Saguier, the club's coach, it all started when he saw the abandoned pet and offered him a piece of pie. "Since that day, every time I come to work, he welcomes me and does not neglect me, " Saguier told a local newspaper. “He accompanies me on the court, in the hallways, in the office. When someone approaches, they do not allow them to be by my side, threatening with grunts, ”he says.

Despite being jealous of the coach, Tesapara won the heart of the entire Club 2 de Mayo team. He even attends training sessions - perhaps to give some kind of moral incentive to the team. The dog has even appeared in photos of team interviews and press conferences, although it does not yet sport a blue uniform like the players entering the field.

“It's the club keeper, lives there. When the gates close, it becomes a beast; by day is friendly, very affordable. He is known to everyone, ”says Saguier. It is important to remember that it is extremely common - especially on foreign lands - for animals to be used as symbolism to represent sports teams, appearing on their coat of arms and official symbols. But as far as we know, this is the first time a pussy has actually joined a sports team.
