Zombie cells are created in the lab and work better than alive

Have you ever seen zombies in video games, movies and even in Miami - do you still remember him? "But had you ever heard anything about zombie cells?" This is exactly what some scientists from New Mexico (United States) are creating in their labs. For this, no viruses or special rituals are used, but science and knowledge in the handling of organic materials.

Researchers at the University of New Mexico's Sandia National Laboratory embalmed cells with a silicon-based acid. The purpose of this would be to allow organic cells to survive very high temperatures, something that would not happen under normal conditions. According to the Daily Mail, the process ends up “fossilizing” cells because it conserves their biological material even after the organic matter is evaporated.

When it reaches very high temperatures, it is this fossilized replica that keeps working - because the original organic materials are already dead. The scientists responsible for the project say that zombie cells can work better than the original ones and believe that in the future they may have commercial value. At the Huffington Post, they said they can wait for them on fuels and sensor technologies.
