Mixing elements from the legendary “Journey to the West” of Chinese mythology, Akira Toriyama ended up creating a fantastic world with her fun and charismatic characters. But not everyone recognizes the genius of the author when choosing the names of each anime warrior - using vegetable names and oriental puns even jokes.

  • Kakaroto: is the original name of the main character, before he was adopted on Earth and gained another name.   • Nappa: is a very regional word in Japan and has a direct relationship with spinach, kale and lettuce;
  • Pan: is Gohan's daughter and the translation of her name is bread;
  • Trunks: Bulma's family members have a direct relationship with the underwear. Its meaning is boxers;
  • Bulma: comes from the English "bloomers". However, in this case is female and takes the name of the gym shorts that women wear in the gym;

  • Mr. Satan: Many fans confirm that this name is directly related to the capiroto, meaning satan.   • Videl: as daughter of Mr. Satan, your name is an anagram of "devil", known here as the infernal devil;
