When she hit the earthly ground there were few signs of beauty. However, after being studied and dissected, the Fukang meteorite turned out to be a stone of rare beauty. Discovered in the Gobi Desert in China's Xinjiang Province, the artifact found in 2000 became the subject of study and was divided into several pieces.

An anonymous collector, who owns the largest portion of it (a piece weighing 420 pounds), bought the stone in 2008 at an auction in New York for $ 2 million (currently $ 4 million) and currently this piece remains saved.

Other parts of Fukang can be sold for up to $ 100 per gram. Researchers believe these meteorites originate within intact meteors created during the formation of the Solar System, about 4.5 billion years ago. They are even rarer because few of them have survived the descent into the earth's atmosphere.
