Close up: these images competed for a macrophotography contest
Are you a fan of macrophotography - that is, the way photographers (usually) focus their lenses on tiny objects and protagonists and reveal details that would normally go unnoticed? Because of all the various photo contests that take place during the year, there are some that reward macro images and among them is the Macro Art Project, a competition that highlights the beauty of plants, animals and gardens from around the world.
By the way, according to Rich Haridy of New Atlas, the contest is actually part of another larger competition, the International Garden Photographer of the Year, which aims to select the best pictures of gardens and plants of the year - and whose participants can apply until October this year.
But until the organizers of the awards announce who the great finalists and winners will be, they take the opportunity to brighten our eyes through parallel evidence filled with images that look like works of art.
