Solar eclipse can be seen in some regions of Brazil this Sunday

The month of November has just begun and comes with great news for those who like to keep up with everything that happens in the sky: this Sunday, November 3, will be the last eclipse of the year. This time it is a total solar eclipse.

"This solar eclipse will be seen in parts of North and Central America, the North of South America, the North and Northeast of Brazil, and parts of Europe and Africa, " said astronomer Marcos Jerônimo for the G1.

With Brazil as a point of observation, what we will see is a partial eclipse. Residents of the north and northeast of the country will have a privileged view, but that does not mean that the eclipse cannot be seen in other parts of the country.

The phenomenon should start early, between 7am and 8am in most of the national territory, reaching its peak of visibility between 8am and 9am. For the exact time when the sun and moon will meet in your city and the darkness that can be observed, check out the Geographic Climatology website table for full details.

The astronomer also warns that people accompanying the phenomenon protect their eyes properly using special filters with UV protection. Other types of filters - such as negatives or x-ray plates - should not be used to prevent eye damage.

If you like to observe this kind of phenomenon, it is best to make sure not to miss the eclipse that occurs this Sunday. According to the G1, the next annular solar eclipse is only scheduled for October 14, 2023. The phenomenon will take time, but it can also be seen in the north and northeast of the country. In the meantime, the business will be keeping your eyes on the sky to check for meteor showers that will fall there.
