Siena International Photo Awards is the award many photographers dream of, and the 2016 award-winning photos are truly amazing, breathtaking. Professionals from over 100 countries took part in the selective that chose the images you will see next - then tell us which one is your favorite:

1 - Smile

These Tibetan monks were attending an assembly, all covered in snow, when a young Lama turned back and smiled - such a beautiful picture, huh.

2 - Strawberry Greenhouses, Turkey

Worker walks among the greenhouses while picking fruits in the Turkish province of Aydin.

3 - Playing the net

This photo was a winner because of its color composition.

4 - The power of nature

First place winner in the “Nature” category, this photo was taken at Mount Etna in December 2015.

5 - Mangrove, Cuba

Another beautiful winning image from the “Nature” category, due to the amazing and scary crocodile that appears on it.

6 - Floating Market, Malaysia

This image shows the importance of water transport in the region and, of course, it is a beautiful record of Borneo's daily life.

7 - Amazing game of lines and shadows, Vietnam

The image was taken in the dunes of Mui Ne, located in southern Vietnam. In it, three girls walk wearing the typical conical shaped hats.

8 - Architectural reflection

This incredible image was produced at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, made of marble and located in Abu Dhabi.

9 - Contrast

Photo taken during Isa Radhi's funeral, who was murdered during martial law at Sitra Village in March 2011.

10 - The Way Back, Iraq

Record of a region in southern Iraq, with waters coming from the Euphrates River.

11 - The Storyteller, China

In this Chinese tea house there is still a very curious practice: there people lie down to relax while listening to stories every day.

12 - Houses, Tibet

Another image awarded for its architectural style. These numerous houses are located in Larong Ditch, Sichuan Province, and the picture was taken after a blizzard night.

This wonderful image was made in Tuscany.
