These amazing photographs are finalists in Sony's award.

The list of finalists for the Sony World Photography Awards 2014, a contest that awards the most amazing photographs taken in 2013 or the first months of this year, was unveiled.

There are two categories: amateur photographers, who can upload images taken at any time, and professional photographers, who select the most impressive clicks from big names in the profession.

A judging panel that includes Sony professionals (which sponsors and names the event, but does not require portraits made with Sony's handsets) will determine the winners by April this year.
