This shotgun used to hunt ducks could kill 50 animals with one shot.

Duck hunting is a common activity in some countries, most notably the United States, where it has been popular since the 18th century. It is usually done with full-size shotguns, but during the 19th century a type of Unconventional weapon almost destroyed the wildlife population.

Called the punt gun, the object was so heavy that it used to get stuck at the tips of boats used during hunting. A single shot could kill up to 50 animals, reducing the hunter's job to collect dead animals after pulling the trigger.

All that efficiency seemed no longer enough to meet the high demand for meat and feathers of the time, so much so that many people went after armed animals in groups of ten. It was necessary to organize well and surround the ducks without drawing attention, but after that one shot of each took 500 birds in a matter of seconds.

It was not long before the number of wildlife began to fall rapidly, which eventually led to a ban on punt gun by the states. In 1918, federal law definitely banned hunting for marketing purposes, finally turning the giant shotgun into a museum piece.
