This guy created an anti-apocalypse superbunker with 42 old buses

There is no shortage of overprepared people who are already preparing for the events that could put an end to humanity. One is Bruce Beach - a guy who, for more than five decades, started building an impressive anti-apocalypse superbunker. The site is in the village of Horning's Mills, located north of Toronto, Canada, occupies an area of nearly 1, 000 square meters and was built from 42 old school buses.

Bruce's Ark

The shelter was named Ark Two Shelter - or Ark Two Shelter - and was designed to protect Beach and his wife if our planet became the scene of a nuclear hecatomb. And if you wondered if the bunker's name was inspired by the story of Noah's Ark, know that, yes, that's right!

Built on the guy's property - which, despite living in Canada, is from Kansas, USA - the bunker is several feet deep under a thick layer of earth and concrete and, although it began to be raised at the time in that the world was in the middle of the Cold War, there are plenty of people out there thinking that the place might be useful soon.

As we mentioned at the beginning of the story, the bunker was built from 42 disused school buses that were positioned in a hurricane that Beach had dug into its terrain. The vehicles are connected to each other, covered by almost half a meter of concrete and just over 4 meters of land and house a chapel, a radio communications center, two industrial kitchens and enough beds to accommodate about 350 refugees. .

The bunker also features a ventilation system, full plumbing, and running water from a private artesian well, a decontamination room, grocery and supply storage, a play area, and electricity - and everything is kept working with use. of nine diesel generators. Incidentally, with so much space, the Beach shelter is among the largest and most complete functional bunkers in the world.

But do not think that the existence of the shelter is viewed enthusiastically by the authorities! According to Bruce, he has had to report to the law more than 30 times, since the site was built without proper permits. Only local firefighters have banned the "Ark" twice for identifying security issues and have almost closed the bunker a third time recently, when a gathering of people preparing for the end of the world has taken place.

However, the guy is not shaken by the difficulties and keeps keeping the bunker running and making improvements here and there whenever they are needed. If Bruce's Ark will ever be used someday - hopefully not! No one knows, but if the worst happens, he (apparently) is prepared. And you, dear reader, what do you think of the initiative?
