If you're the type who loves to feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins and you're not afraid to tackle the wildest rides at amusement parks, then your roller coasters are likely to be among your favorites. The folks at Mashable have published a list of some of the most amazing roller coasters in the world, which you can check out from the comfort and safety of your own computer. Check out:

1 - The Smiler

Located in a British amusement park - Alton Towers in Stafford, England - this amazing roller coaster is the world record number of inversions: 14 in total! Too bad the video doesn't show how the boy filming gets off the cart.

2 - Takabisha

Imagine tumbling from a height of over 40 meters at an angle of 121 degrees! This is Takabisha, a roller coaster located in Fujiyoshida, Japan, set for the steepest climbs - and descents - in the world!

3 - Zoomerang

A mix of roller coaster and boomerang, Zoomerang features a layout in which the trolley is first pulled back and then released by the tracks, repeating the same path later. This video structure is located at an amusement park in Connecticut, USA.

4 - Spongebob Grebe

This huge roller coaster is not located in an amusement park, but inside a mall in Minnesota, USA. Dedicated to dear cartoon character SpongeBob, the structure is not made for little children or stomach cramps, as the "loon" that the stroller gives in one of the sections is quite respectable.

5 - Kingda Ka

Opened in 2004 at an amusement park located between New York and Philadelphia, Kingda Ka is the tallest roller coaster in the world - nearly 140 meters high! - In addition to having the longest fall as well. It is said that if you are not scared to death and can keep your eyes open on the highest stretch, the view from the buildings of the two cities is incredible from above.

6 - Colossus

This huge roller coaster, located in Valencia, California, despite its ancient appearance, remains quite imposing. Colossus has been in operation since 1978 and has appeared in several movies and TV series.

7 - Jet Star, in memoriam

Just imagine being able to ride a roller coaster built on a seaside pier! That was - that's right, it was ... - Jet Star, located in New Jersey, USA. Unfortunately, as you can see at the end of the video, during Hurricane Sandy's passage through the region, the structure was destroyed and swept into the Atlantic.

So, reader, would you risk venturing into one of these roller coasters? Have you ever strolled in any of them or do you know another even scarier structure? Be sure to tell us in the comments!
