Faith in humanity: Employees donate vacation to colleague to treat their daughter

Look at what a beautiful citizenship lesson a French crystal factory employee made: they donated their vacation to a co-worker to take care of their daughter, who was diagnosed with cancer.

Jonathan Dupré was having to multiply to be able to take his 5-year-old daughter to the doctor and still not miss a day of work. Sensitized by the situation, his colleagues met with the factory owner and the HR manager to negotiate their own vacation for Dupré.

That way, the man can take time off for 350 days. It will be enough for him to take the girl to the chemotherapy sessions that have been taking place since December last year, when she had surgery to remove a 13-centimeter tumor in the kidney. Little Naëlle was diagnosed with kidney cancer about a year ago.

The move was only possible because last year France passed a law that allows employees to donate vacation days to colleagues as long as it is approved by the company's board. The girl's cancer is in remission, but treatment still has some steps to be completed. “I found out through a letter and was very moved. It was a burden on us, but now we will have no more problems - at least not to take her to the necessary appointments and examinations, ”said her father.

And would you, dear reader, give away your vacation if Brazilian labor law allowed it? Or would you ask your colleagues to give you a few more days of rest?
