Flippy, the bartender robot who promises to prepare hamburgers to perfection

Hamburgers are one of the most consumed options in the world, precisely because they are fast and easy to make. But of course the preparation has some "tricks" that make the sandwich tastier and much of the secret is in the right spot of the meat. Behold, the manufacturer Miso Robotics promises to be an alternative to traditional restaurant plates: Flippy performs the function uninterruptedly, with the same efficiency and human consistency, and without the danger of skin burn.

The automaton has a movable base, light enough to be carried by a cafeteria worker, and has a spatula-shaped arm in the standard burger size. It uses image recognition and heat detection to check which ones need to be turned around and alternates until they're ready. The capacity is 12 units at one time.

Check out a demo:

The concept was created last year in partnership with the Caliburger snack chain, which already has plans to install the machines in 50 stores soon. Each one costs US $ 6 thousand (about R $ 19, 400, without taxes) and the maintenance of the operations leaves for US $ 12 thousand (almost R $ 39 thousand) per year.

The idea, according to the developers, is to accelerate the process of fresh food, keeping cooks more concerned with manual food preparation and serving. Miso Robotics has also signed a deal with sports and entertainment company Levy, which will use Flippys as kitchen helpers. The next step is to increase the company's capabilities through the use of artificial intelligence and to increase the range of solutions for the general gastronomy.
