Photographers click on tourist cities replicated by Chinese

If you thought the Chinese pirated only smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices, know that the hole is a little lower. As we have already reported here in the Megacurioso, Asians also like to clone entire foreign cities and faithfully reproduce some internationally known sights - such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and even the White House.

This peculiar cultural activity caught the eye of the duo of photographers Sebastian Acker and Phil Thompson, who decided to travel around China documenting any kind of “architectural and cultural copy” they encountered along the way. To this end, the artists opened a crowdfunding campaign through the Indiegogo website.

Although the amount raised was not as large as planned, it was enough to encourage the pair to begin the journey: the result so far can be seen in the series of images below.
