In addition, rumors arose that a medium had been hired to rid the place of the troubled soul, and even identified whose spirit it would be. According to the clipping, the corpse would have been found without clothes and with his hands tied behind his back, and the case caused a huge commotion in the city. According to the date of the news, it was reportedly published in the newspaper Ideal on February 15, a Friday.
Fake News!
The mayor is quite skeptical of the whole thing and said he has no ghost hanging around the corridors of his workplace. In fact, he was very quick to clarify the mystery. For starters, the city spokeswoman, a woman named Mari Carmen Ros, said she was a high school student in 1979, 13 years old at the time, and no crime at school.
The news is false, as is the newspaper clipping - note that the clipped text that appears on the right is in English. Ideal himself confirmed that this information was never published by them, and February 15, 1979 fell on a Thursday instead of a Friday!
