History: Check out the list of the oldest domains of the Brazilian Internet.

Technically, the internet is 40 years old. But this is if we take into account the first tests and experiments on connecting computers at a distance. The first registrations of domains or commercial sites, which basically marked the beginning of network expansion, only started in the 1980s and, in Brazil, in 1995.

In this context, the first registration of a national commercial domain, “.com.br”, was made by Cemig, the Minas Gerais Energy Company. Therefore, if we do not consider addresses of universities and public agencies, cemig.com.br is the oldest site in Brazil. His 23rd birthday will be "celebrated" on August 17th.

In 1995, when the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee began its activity, it took up to seven days to register a domain, since the process was all manual. In 2008, when the bureaucracy was eliminated, there was a boom in the number of records, with about 25, 000 monthly requests.

All domains that had already been registered in 1995 were noted under 01/01/1996

We currently have over 1.5 million addresses ending in .com.br, which makes Brazil the seventh country with the most national domain registrations in the world. However, when the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee adopted an electronic registration mechanism, all domains that had already been registered in 1995 were noted under the date 01/01/1996. With that, part of this story was lost at that time.

Therefore, the following list is organized into categories rather than chronologically. Check out.
