Almost two years ago, an unprecedented disaster struck Hungary, in which 700, 000 cubic meters of toxic waste from an aluminum refinery eventually spread to several villages. At the time, there were several deaths, countless injuries, thousands of homeless and a destruction of catastrophic proportions.

According to American Photo, Spanish photographer Palíndromo Mészáros has been around recently, and the red stripe you see in the image above that looks more like a Photoshop effect actually marks the locations hit by the toxic mud river. .
