Chinese unmanned module successfully reaches the moon

China has not been overwhelmed by the recent failed attempt to launch a satellite in partnership with Brazil. This Saturday (14), the unmanned ship Chang ' e 3 successfully landed on the moon and unloaded the Yutu spacecraft, which features a series of sensors and research technologies.

With the success of the mission, China achieves the feat of being the third country to reach our natural satellite, behind the United States and Russia. Since the Soviet Luma 24 module in 1976, a human vehicle has not made soft landings (no damage to equipment) for site study.

The name "Chang ' e" refers to a goddess who, in Chinese mythology, lives on the moon and is accompanied by the Jade Rabbit, Yutu, nicknamed the probe. The six-wheeled vehicle weighs 117 kg, moves at 0.2 km / h using solar energy and has two mechanical arms for digging lunar soil. Over the next three months, he will conduct research with the support of a Chinese command center and the European Space Agency. The United States is not involved in the partnership, but US scientists will have free access to the collected data.

The video and photos you give in this article are, for now, the only material released by China to the public. The idea of the Chinese is believed to be to launch a manned mission to the moon in 2020.
