He aimed at the armadillo and hit his mother-in-law: the story of an unlucky family

According to Georgia police last Sunday in the United States, a 74-year-old woman was shot in the back by her son-in-law. The story, though tragic, had no passionate motivation and was actually an accident.

Larry McElroy, 54, fired his 9mm pistol to kill an armadillo. The animal was hit, but its hard shell caused the projectile to bounce off and hit the back of the shooter's mother-in-law, who was more than 90 meters away.

Luckily, the wound was not fatal as the bullet lost a lot of energy as it entered the door of the house. According to Lee County investigator Sheriff Bill Smith, the elderly woman was walking alone and talking normally after the incident. The officer also said that it is safer to use traps to capture the animals or to shoot with rifles.
