Real-life Mogli: Learn the story of the girl who grew up among animals

Do you remember the story of Mogli, the boy who was raised in the jungle, among many pets? That's pretty much the story of Tippi Degre, who lived in the company of animals and nature for 10 years while his parents worked studying wildlife in Africa.

Tippi's mother, Sylvie Robert, thinks her daughter was a very lucky child to have had wildlife experiences for so long in the company of her parents, without contact with many other humans. Tippi believed that animals were friends of his size, feeling completely at ease in the animal world.

One of his most amazing pictures is one in which he is hugging a frog, as if he were a toy, perhaps a stuffed animal. And that was basically Tippi's childhood, in the midst of animals and a completely wild life, free of any luxury but rich in experience with nature.

His childhood friends were leopards, elephants, crocodiles, lion cubs, giraffes, meerkats, snakes, zebras and chameleons. Do you imagine yourself growing up among these animals? For many of them, considered violent and dangerous, accepted Tippi without any major problems. The girl's parents always liked to make sure, though, that the wild animals wouldn't hurt her.

Tippi also had contact with native tribes of Namibia and with them learned ways to survive the wildlife, as well as communicate, hunt and prepare their own food based on roots and fruits.

Her parents returned to Paris when the girl was 10 years old. Already in the City of Light, Tippi was taken to school and became a kind of celebrity, after all, everyone showed interest in knowing their experience in the jungle.

City life was troubled, as it took her a while to fully adapt to civilization, having gone to school for only two years. After that, her parents started teaching home classes to Tippi, who today, at the age of 23, studies cinema and still keeps close proximity to animals. She wrote a book called “Africa's Tippi” which became a sales leader.

Hypeness has published some pictures of this story, including some of which Tippi is already an adult:
