Nasa releases photo and video of hole in the sun that originates the northern lights

This Wednesday (NASA), NASA released the image above, which shows a gigantic coronal hole in the sun. It was responsible for solar wind currents that produced intense aurora borealis on Earth in recent days.

According to NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, the photos were captured on Saturday (10). In them, or in the video below, you can see a darker region at the top of the image. It shows a low-density spot on the star so that the magnetic field can detach from the sun's surface and “travel” through the universe.

When this whole magnetism reaches Earth, it produces the famous boreal auroras - the result of their interaction with oxygen and nitrogen. The dark holes in the solar image are precisely the particles that detached from the star with a giant speed.
