No sooner have we overcome the last threat of the end of the world, and there are new rumors about the possibility of Earth facing a new apocalypse in 2036. However, according to NASA - which has already become a true expert in dealing with that kind of panic - there's nothing to fear, as asteroid Apophis shouldn't bump into us.

Discovered in 2004, the asteroid has the size of more than three football fields together. Initially, according to some preliminary estimates - calculated from its orbit - there was a 2.7% probability that the star would collide with Earth in 2029. However, the discovery of new data ruled out this possibility, pointing out that the impact could occur in 2036.

However, based on data from 2011 through 2012 through various space telescopes, as well as information gathered from the observation of a distant passage from the asteroid on Wednesday, January 9, space agency experts are confident that that humanity is in no danger of living an Armageddon. Apophis will pass close to our planet, but the likelihood of a collision occurring is 1 in 1 million.
