Space Shuttle Discovery prepares for its last trip

A group of NASA photographers have documented every moment that preceded the last trip of the Discovery shuttle, which was flown from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to the Smithsonians National Air and Space Museum in Washington.

The transport was made by a Boeing 747, specially modified to accomplish the important mission. You can check out some pictures of the operation in the gallery below or visit the Kennedy Space Center website to see the full collection. The images really deserve a visit.
