Nimb: Ring Wants To Act As Your Personal Security System

In a dangerous situation, there is not always time or conditions to access your smartphone and make a call or send a message. With this in mind Nimb was developed, a ring that aims to serve as a personal safety system - a project that needs the help of crowdfunding to be produced on a large scale.

The accessory acts as a “panic button” that connects to devices via Bluetooth signals. As soon as you press the gadget mechanism for 3 seconds, it sends predefined contacts an alert that you are in danger.

Nimb button is located in a strategic position

To avoid accidents, the Nimb knob is located in a strategic position, emitting a small vibration to let you know when an alert has been issued. Details sent by the security solution include your positioning via GPS and details of your personal profile.

The new feature comes with a “false alarm” system that allows you to cancel notifications within 30 seconds if you use a security pass. The system is so intelligent that you can set a special password to indicate that you are being forced to cancel the alert.

The Uber of Security

Nimb is not limited to the accessory: its creators want to create a platform on which the "best and fastest" rescue teams are alerted to unfavorable situations around the world. The system will work similarly to a "Security Uber", allowing people interested in helping to receive warnings through an application.

Whoever decides on the help of this rescue team will have to pay a monthly fee to access this system that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Otherwise, you can still set up alerts for as many family and friends as you like at no additional cost.

Sold at $ 129 ($ 399) through Kickstarter or the official website, Nimb should cost $ 149 ($ 461) in its commercial model. With more than US $ 200, 000 accumulated so far, the financing campaign has already exceeded its initial goal, and the forecast of shipping the first units of the accessory is sometime in March this year.
