Lovely pet-shaped omelets hit Japan

In Japan, there is a typical dish called omurice, which is characterized by bringing grains of fried rice into an omelet, with some ketchup or sauce on top of the food - omu means omelet and rice means rice. It is a popular dish in the country, usually made at home and quickly, for morning meals or when there are no more elaborate options in the kitchen.

The omurice is also constantly served to children (some of them bring their plate to eat in their own schools). To make this food more appetizing and fun for little ones, some people try to create small animal shapes with the ingredients provided.
