For speed lovers, fuel consumption is an important point when buying a vehicle, as the high price of gasoline that in 2015 reached almost 9% across the country makes consumption an even more relevant issue. In the automobile market it is possible to know with a tool whether the car is economical or not: the energy efficiency test, carried out by the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program, coordinated by Inmetro.

Every year, the efficiency test points to the most economical models with the participation of all 35 assemblers and importers present in Brazil and 795 models, which undergo the evaluation of fuel consumption and also the emission of pollutants. By the end of 2016, another 131 models are expected to be tagged, closing the year with 100% of the assessed fleet. The Program wants to make consumers aware of the choice of more economical and less polluting models.

In total there are 14 categories evaluated: microcompact; subcompact; medium; great; sportive; compact sport utility vehicle; large SUV; Extra big; light commercial; minivan; off road large; pickup truck; and passenger vehicle derived cargo. VW UP! TSI 1.0 And VW UP! 1.0

The Volkswagen car falls into the compact category and is one of the most economical in the market. The Up! has the addition of turbo, which makes the compact performance similar to that of a 1.8 car. According to Inmetro, the Up! TSI in the Move, High, Speed ​​versions when fueled with ethanol makes 9.6 km / l in the city and 11.1 km / l on the highway. With gasoline, the performance is 13.8 km / l and 16.1 km / l.

Already the Up! 1.0 also guarantees savings, although its most powerful version, Up! TSI, have better fuel efficiency. Take, Move and High alcohol options reached 9.2 km / l in the city and 10.2 km / l on the highway. With gasoline, they were 13.5 km / l in the city and 14.6 km / l on the highway.

RENAULT CLIO AUTHENTIQUE 1.0

The Clio is one of the most efficient compact models in both the city and the road. With gasoline, the Clio reaches 14.3 km / l in the city and 15.8km / l on the road. With ethanol, the mileage is 9.5 km / l and 10.7 km / l respectively.

The S and SV versions of the Japanese-brand Nissan entry car made 8.8 km / l in the city and 10.3 km / l on the highway, with ethanol; and 12.9 km / l and 15.1 km / l, with gasoline. They are in the top 10 in efficiency for the segment.

FIAT PALIO FIRE 1.0

The Palio Fire is the most economical of the brand and was among the best places in the 2015 Inmetro ranking, with performance of 8.8 km / l in the city and 10.3 km / l on the road, with ethanol. Already with gasoline, the average expense was 12.3 km / l and 15 km / l respectively.

VW FOX BLUEMOTION 1.0

Bluemotion is not only the first version of Fox to have a 1.0 engine, but also the most fuel efficient. The average expense is 8.8 km / l for the city and 9.9 km / l for the road, with ethanol; and 12.7 km / l and 14.4 km / l, with gasoline.

HYUNDAI HB20 1.0

The HB20 1.0 is on both the bestseller list in the country and the most economical. According to Inmetro 2015 data, the Comfort, Plus and Style configurations registered an average consumption of 8.5 km / l in the city and 9.9 km / l on the highway, with ethanol; and 12.5 km / l and 14.4 km / l with gasoline.

TOYOTA ETIOS 1.5

The compact model from the Japanese manufacturer also had good consumption rates in the XS, XSL, Cross and Platinum configurations. Fueled with ethanol they made 8.5 km / l in the city and 9.5 km / l on the highway; and with gasoline, the average was 12.2 km / l and 13.8 km / l respectively.
