The 9 Ugliest Concept Cars Ever Made

Just a quick stroll down the street to see the infinite variety of cars available out there. Among sedan and hatch models, compact, wagons, coupes and sports cars, SUVs and many other options, there is no shortage of alternatives in the automobile market.

Apart from the plethora of machines that are true consumer dreams, there are also some options that are pretty much a consensus of ugliness. Some of the weirder models, however, fortunately did not even ship to the production line. Check out some of the ugliest concept cars ever designed.

1. Acura Advanced Sedan

Close to the models you will see next, Acura is until quite normal. With flowing lines and a design that tries to be futuristic, it first appeared in 2006, but it didn't necessarily delight the public out there. Dave Marek, the designer responsible for the creation, stated at the time that the car had been launched to be "highly provocative."

2. Chevrolet Bel Air

A kind of rereading of the 1950s model of the eponymous model, the Chevrolet Bel Air launched in 2002 might well have been inspired by Pixar's "Cars" movie. Presented during the North American International Auto Show, it was inspired by the previous model, but still failed to attract GM's attention to be produced for the market.

3. Kia KCV4

Looks like 2004 was a crazy year for Kia; only for its designers to think that a model like the Kia KCV4 Mojave would be embraced by the public. The car was promising, but it did not engage.

4. Pontiac Aztek

Aiming to be futuristic and innovative, Pontiac Aztek was launched as a young and versatile alternative, compatible with the Generation X lifestyle. It went on sale, but things didn't seem to work out very well.

5. Ford Mustang "Rambo"

The Mustang Rambo created in 1994 has a Delorean complex, with its typical design of futuristic movie cars in the 1980s, but it did not convince the public and ended up not being manufactured. The retro signature, with its silver color and bizarre proportions, could have helped, but this was not the case.

6. Volkswagen Polo by Colani

Designed by Luigi Colani, this special edition of Polo looks like a cartoon. You wait for Mr. Bean to get out of the half-twisted vehicle after his MINI has melted a little and turned into it here.

7. Buick Signia

Possibly one of the worst cars ever made, the Buick Signia was created to revive General Motors' commitment to innovation and versatility. But how, my Brazil? The car is bold, but not in a very positive way, and the color of the prototype doesn't help either!

8. Aurora Safety Car

The funniest thing about Aurora is that its design was designed by a priest in the 1950s, right? Wrong! The funniest thing about this model is himself, his weird lines, and this design that makes it look like he actually intended to look like a shark.

9. Honda Fuya-Jo

And here, ladies and gentlemen, we have the big winner among the most bizarre cars of all time. Honda's Fuya-Jo looks like a surrealist composition. It is almost as if the front of a train has been docked over an old car. The model was launched by the brand in 1999 during the Tokyo Motor Show.

For one thing, Fuya-Jo had good environmental intentions and was thought of as an environmentally friendly hybrid. On the other hand, it encouraged misleading tanning, since the car's biggest pyre is that it is designed to look like a little club.
