Pablo Escobar tannery: gang disguises cocaine on wooden pallets

This news goes to “Narcos” fans: Spanish police have seized 1.5 tons of cocaine disguised as wooden pallets! That's right! If you think you've seen it all in the drug world, be aware that the movie “Traffic” has been going to school - in the 2000 feature film, drug dealers turned cocaine into dolls.

Now, however, the idea was to enter Europe through the port of Valencia with 40 pallets that were actually made of cocaine. The drug was dissolved with glue and solvent and placed in molds that mimicked the pallets, which were later painted to give the impression of being made of wood.

"Wood" pallets were actually made of cocaine

To give even more credibility to international trafficking - the Colombian ship set sail - traffickers were transporting charcoal on pallets. Everything was made to seem like a common procedure, but once the cargo reached its destination, the pallets would again be transformed into cocaine, for an estimated total of $ 400 million! No less than $ 1.5 billion!

In all, 11 people of different nationalities were arrested, and a huge trafficking scheme was dismantled. In addition to the pallets, some bags of charcoal also carried the drug. The idea was to use charcoal to mask the smell, so that sniffer dogs would not find the illicit substance. Except that the traffickers didn't count on the cunning of the Spanish police and intelligence agents.
