Panel illustrates the evolution of tennis through 100 years of history

There is no denying it: even if you no longer wear comfortable sneakers in your daily life, surely you should have a pair hidden somewhere in the closet, if you do not have that old and boring model you keep as a souvenir. The point is that, at least for most of us, this kind of shoe was part of our lives at one time or another, following our steps and stumbling.

So if you are - or have been - a fan of good old sneakers, take a look at the panel created by the PopChartLab folks at the end of this article. The frame features 134 models created over nearly 100 years of history, ranging from the classic All Star launched in 1917 to some of the latest (and very bizarre) shoes of its kind.

Step by step

Interestingly, in addition to recognizing various panel shoes, it is also possible to observe how materials, technologies and designs have evolved over the years. So, as you can see, the older models were far more functional than beautiful, while some of the latest designs are absurd - or would you go around wearing a winged sneaker? - showing that technology has eventually joined forces with fashion.

Another curious fact about the panel is that, if you pay attention, you will notice that several models from the past have been relaunched over time, and that many of the designs, while undergoing some changes, can still be seen parading around.
