Penis-shaped pillars cause controversy in US city

A simple street-side pillar in the small town of Scott Township, Pennsylvania, has caused discomfort for the local population. This is because, in the view of some, objects have the unpleasant shape of a penis.

“People have laughed at that. They are calling it [the street] the Penis Road, ”resident Pat Martin tells city commissioners at a meeting held last week. For other passers-by, however, it was never more than an innocent abit without any reference to the male sex organ.

A city representative said the State Department of Transportation approved the placement of the poles, including their shape, but ensured that the redesign or even replacement of materials is not ruled out.

So, do the shapes really look like a penis or is it all a "fertile imagination" for the eye?
