According to a report published by Discovery News, an international group of researchers has discovered the existence of a planet wandering in space that does not orbit around any star or belong to any solar system.

Named by astronomers CFBDSIR2149, the orphan planet is approximately 130 light years from Earth in a region of space known as the AB Doradus Star Association. This region is made up of a group of young stars, and astronomers had never detected the presence of any planet wandering there.

Scientists estimate that the solitary planet is between 50 and 120 million years old, and its surface has temperatures of about 400 ° C. Moreover, its mass is four to seven times larger than Jupiter's mass, and the star can only be studied in such detail because it is not near - or bound to the gravitational field - by any large star.
