If you're an adventurous person who likes to travel and try new things, chances are you've had a lot of different foods out there. However, some delicacies aren't just weird, they're incredibly bizarre and out of the ordinary. Genital Stew
The - little - appetizing stew in the image above is one of the delicacies served by the Chinese restaurant chain Guo Li Zhuang, which specializes in preparing meals that have as their main ingredient the genitalia of a variety of animals. Among the most common specimens are donkey penises - don't laugh! - lamb and beef, and the Chinese believe that these "products" have a number of medicinal properties.
Fried Tarantulas
If you're not a fan of soups - or the idea of chewing on an animal's penis - how about risking something more ... crunchy? Fried tarantulas, seasoned with garlic and salt, are a delicacy served in Cambodia, and anyone who has tried to make sure that the spiders taste similar to chicken or cod. Even the abdomen - with its smooth, stuffed texture of eggs, internal organs and droppings - can be consumed without any problems.
Fried Crumb Sandwich
If you're a junk food fan, how about trying one of the most bizarre snack varieties in the world? The fried crumb sandwich is prepared with the brain of calves, which, after being sliced and breaded, is fried and served warm with hamburger bread. The photo snack is served in Ohio, USA, but you can also find other types of dishes - such as burritos and tacos in Mexico - prepared with brains.
Casu Marzu
For cheese lovers, the above variety - from the Sardinia region of Italy - is made from sheep's milk and live fly larvae, which are added during the ripening process to bring about an advanced level of fermentation near the stage. of decomposition. If you decide to try this delicacy, it is advisable to take out the larvae before eating, as they can jump up to 15 inches when disturbed.
Ant larvae
Just looking at the picture above - with so many healthy vegetables and such - would you imagine that the food was prepared with ant larvae? Much appreciated in Mexico, this delicacy is called Escamoles and is usually prepared with butter and herbs. Apparently, the larvae have a soft consistency and surprisingly pleasant taste, and it is quite common for them to be served with the famous guacamole.
Duck egg ... with a duckling inside!
Perhaps one of the most bizarre delicacies in the world - and one of the most difficult to face - is Balut, served in the Philippines. Considered as an aphrodisiac, Balut is prepared from an already fertilized duck egg (containing an embryo), which is cooked and served inside the shell itself. Normally, the dish comes with some alcohol, and we suspect that the accompaniment serves to make the dinner forget what is swallowing!
