Motorized bird rides on robotic cart [video]

The animals really don't stop surprising. After dogs going to au-au- school, gorilla cooks and smart chimpanzees, now there is also a motorized parrot driving its own robotic cart out there.

According to the Alligator website, engineering student Andrew Gray decided to build the vehicle to calm his Pepper pet - a hysterical parrot - who spent the day screaming to get the owner's attention. So, in order to keep the bird busy, Gray developed a trolley that Pepper can easily control with its beak.

The robotic buggy allows the parrot to move forward, back and side through a steering mechanism that looks like a joystick. The car also features infrared sensors that prevent Pepper from bumping into obstacles, and after the bird gets tired of pacing - and chattering around the house - the cart goes into standalone mode and drives itself to a station to recharge the battery.
