Van Gogh's paintings come to life through amazing animations [video]

Van Gogh's works bring a wealth of detail that impresses. The technique with the brush, the choice of colors and the play of lights and shadows are some of the most striking features of the Dutch painter's work. But have you ever wondered what it would be like to use these features to bring Van Gogh's paintings to life?

That's exactly what Italian designer Luca Agnani, who specializes in three-dimensional shapes and digital lighting, did with some of the artist's major works. The result of the designer work was compiled into a video and released in 2013.

Now, almost a year after the animation was released, the people at BuzzFeed have teamed up to turn the paintings into amazing GIFs that allow us to follow Agnani's work on Van Gogh's works even more closely.
