Second trailer for '300: The Rise of an Empire' is released by Warner

If you are looking forward to the sequel to the iconic movie “300, ” released in 2006, get ready to watch the second trailer for “300: The Rise of an Empire, ” a direct continuation of the first movie. The story is based on the graphic novel “Xerxes”, also written by Frank Miller. If you haven't seen the first trailer for the new Spartan movie, click here.

“300: The Rise of an Empire” will tell the story of the Greeks' revenge, as the King of Sparta, Leonidas, died in combat with 300 of his finest warriors. Much of the film will focus on the character Themistocles (played by Sullivan Stapleton), one of the Greek generals who tried to unify his people to fight back against the Persians.

The film brings familiar characters back, such as the Queen of Sparta, played by Lena Headey and Emperor Xerxes (who is much more prominent in this movie), played by Rodrigo Santoro. The film will be screened in 2D, 3D and in 3D IMAX theaters, scheduled to premiere March 7. Check out the trailer:
