The Great Escape

Birthday is that thing: you have to decide if you're going to celebrate at a bar, a restaurant, or get people home with the famous "it's just a cupcake, " isn't it? As any of these alternatives happens every year, this time I decided to do something different ( #marilacfeelings ) and ran away from Curitiba on the weekend of my birthday.

The destination was Sao Paulo, because for some time I wanted to visit the city, go to some museums and eat in some places there. Even if it is for a few days, it is very good to leave the routine of your city to know new things and, for me, this little escape (I will not sing) was great!

Well, I don't even need to comment that Sao Paulo is a delight, especially since I stayed at a hotel in Alameda Lorena (a nice hotel, but nothing luxury, which is very clear, heheh!), Right in the middle of the neighborhood. Gardens In other words, leaving the hotel and taking a walk around was already an excellent trip: cafes, patisseries, bars, restaurants, Starbucks, everything nearby.

Oscar Freire Street and the Bela Cintra are very close too and for those who are a fan of fashion (and glamor) is a must see. The best stores in Brazil and many of international brands are there. Besides, of course, the famous designer stores like Gloria Coelho, Reinaldo Lourenço and Carlos Miele.

A stroll around Shopping Iguatemi is also worth drooling in the windows of Chanel, Missoni, Burberry (10, 000 reench the trench coat, afff!), Christian Louboutin and other incredible ones that make you wonder what a beautiful millionaire would look like. Of course there are much more important and interesting things in life, but a little bit of glamor is good sometimes, don't you think?

In addition to these “little woman” tours, we visited (me and her husband) the Ipiranga Museum (or USP Paulista Museum) and Independence Park: beautiful places that show the history of São Paulo, the ancestors' customs and the events of the time. of Brazil's independence (before and after).

We also visited the Masp exhibitions. However, what I loved the most was the Football Museum inside Pacaembu Stadium. With several rooms, the museum shows in a didactic and entertaining way the history of football, the terms used in the sport, the idols of all time, the cheering and a journey through the decades with the conquests of Brazil and the events of each era. . Everything is very interactive and modern.

Visitors can also check out the unforgettable plays on displays, the voiceover of games and the best defenses of all time. Videos showing the genius of King Pelé and the "bent-legged angel" Garrincha can also be enjoyed. I loved having visited this place.

Besides these visits, there is no way not to enjoy the cool places that São Paulo has to eat. I took a huge list, but of course I couldn't go almost anywhere I wanted. Even because I didn't have time and it's not easy for anyone either, right? So sometimes we opt for a quick and cheap meal somewhere near the rides.

Anyway, but two places that I went (and were on the list) and loved were St Louis Burger and PJ Clarke's. I love these American food and calorie beee restaurants. There was no way not to leave the diet.

St Louis is a cozy little place. Tables set with checkered tablecloths make the place even more relaxed. The specialty is the hamburger: it has delicious options, including vegetarian.

PJ Clarke's is an original American network, with spots in New York, Chicago, and Washington DC. The decor is beautiful with antique paintings, art-deco chandeliers, an original jukebox and also red and white checkered wipes. I went there to have the breakfast they serve from 9am to noon. In addition to fruits, natural juices and breads of various kinds, PJ's Buffet features American delights such as bacon, eggs, pancakes and brownie. You leave there rolling and happy. Then just run after the loss (pounds and money, by the way).

It was super worth having made this trip, simple, but it was a good birthday present and served to know interesting places.

Till next week ;)
